Blaney confirms allocation for Donegal in 2010 National Roads Allocation
Donegal North East Fianna Fail TD Niall Blaney has confirmed that a total of 12,019,400 has been allocated to Donegal County Council under the 2010 National Roads Allocations. 01/02/10Welcoming the allocation, Deputy Blaney said that the significant investment demonstrates the Governments continued commitment to the development of the Donegals road infrastructure.
In the allocation to Donegal County Council, 10,242,300 is for the improvement of roads and 1,777,100 is for maintenance.
In particular I would like to welcome the allocation of 770,000 for the N14/N15 to A5 Link road and 1,500,000 for improvement works in the Kilverry to Colehill road.
The funding for the N14/N15 will be used for design on the realignment works from the Pluck Roundabout in Letterkenny to Lifford and is part of the Government plan for the A5 road from Dublin to Derry.
The 1,500,000 for the Kilverry to Colehill road on the N13 is a continuation of improvement works. This is a very significant allocation and will go a long way towards the necessary improvements on a section of that road.
I will continue to work with my colleague the Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey TD to ensure that Donegal road projects continue to be advanced as soon as is possible, concluded Niall Blaney TD.
