Blaney confirms 2010 Government funding for Regional and Local roads
Donegal North East Fianna Fáil TD Niall Blaney has confirmed funding under the 2010 Regional and Local Road Grant Allocations for County Donegal. 22/02/10“The allocation for County Donegal in the 2010 Regional and Local Roads Programme is €25,823,931,” Deputy Blaney said.
“In addition to selected routes throughout the county, this funding will be used for maintenance programmes and local improvement schemes.”
“Road safety projects, footpath provision and signposting are also included under the grant.”
“Each of the Town Councils have seen a 10 per cent increase on their 2009 allocation. €195,000 has been allocated to Buncrana Town Council and €395,000 to Letterkenny Town Council.”
"When making the announcement the Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey TD, also assured me that flexibility will be given to local authorities to direct funding to specific priorities, and in particular to stretches of road damaged by the recent spell of severe weather," concluded Niall Blaney TD.
