Deadline approaching for Single Farm Payment Scheme
Niall Blaney TD, has reminded local farmers of the approaching deadline for applications to the Single Payment Scheme. 12/05/10“The deadline for applications for the Single Payment Scheme is next Monday May 17th, ait is the last possible date allowed under EU regulations.”
“There is a 25-day period over the 17th of May during which late applications may be submitted but these will be subject to late penalties at a cumulative rate of 1% per working day.”
“Applications received after the 11th of June will be subject to a 100% penalty.”
“These harsh penalties make it all the more important that local farmers ensure that their applications are submitted in time.”
“It is important that farmers who have engaged the services of an agent for the completion and submission of their form ensure that the application has actually been submitted as the final responsibility lies with the farmer.”
“When using the iNet application process it is vital that forms are submitted properly and not merely saved in the system.”
“Farmers should ensure that they have checked the maps that have been posted to them also.”
“Farmers who submit their forms by the deadline of the 17th of May can submit an Amendment Form by the 31st of May if following closer scrutiny of the maps of their land parcels they want to exclude ineligible features.”
“I would urge all local farmers to read their applications closely and adhere to the deadlines to ensure prompt and full payment,” concluded Niall Blaney TD.
