Garda Trainee recruitment campaign to start in weeks
Donegal North East Fianna Fáil TD Niall Blaney has welcomed the announcement today that a Garda Trainee recruitment campaign is due to start in the coming weeks. 04/06/2010The news was confirmed by the Public Appointments Service on its website www.publicjobs.ie today.
“I am sure this news will be welcomed by a lot of people. Anyone who has lost their job recently or young people graduating from college, may see this as an opportunity for a new career path and I would encourage them to investigate the options under the recruitment campaign.
“I understand that this campaign will establish a panel of approved candidates who will be available for ongoing recruitment into the Garda College as trainees. Trainees will then be taken into the College as needed so that Garda strength is maintained at the approved level.
“Fianna Fáil in Government has always prioritised strengthening the resources of the Gardaí with almost €1.5 billion allocated to its Budget this year,” concluded Niall Blaney TD.
